How are you approaching this small ancient village where there is a great Franciscan monastery with the church.

There are well-kept houses, beautiful gardens and sunshine in a clear stream. It’s nice to see that here many women, especially those older, still wear traditional clothing. People here mostly deal with agriculture, but there are also some carpenters and blacksmiths who make and sell their handicrafts before doing things. In this village Dusper is also home to the oldest house in central Bosnia, and it originates from the early 18th century. The house is a national monument and is under the protection of the state. Restoration has not yet been completed but the house is still open to the public and is a remarkable example of authentic Bosnian architecture. At the entrance to the village is one of the oldest Bosnian mosque in Bosnia and Herzegovina. It was built only for a few days and after that it has never been repaired and maintained – at least it says surrender. The mosque and its wooden minaret are open to visitors.

King Sutjeska and Fort Bobovac were the seat of two Bosnian kingdoms Kotromanjić Tomaš and Tvrtko. For the last king of Bosnia, St. Catherine, they still complain here today, and women as a sign of that sadness in their traditional costumes cover their heads with black maram. When the Ottomans conquered the fort of Bobovac, Catherine had either escaped or been driven to Rome, and never saw Bosnia again. It is reported that her children were taken to Istanbul, where her son was converted to Islam and became a significant person.

Sarajevo – Baščaršija

sl.1 sarajevo-min

sl.2 Sarajevo-min
