Šta videti i posetiti u Crnoj Gori

Manastir Ostrog

sl.3 Manastir Ostrog-min

Ostrog monastery

sl.3 Manastir Ostrog-min

A steep climb and a tidy road prevent large tourist buses from reaching the monastery itself. Although the road is wide enough for cars, bikes and motors, we recommend walking to manatures.

This place is not only for those who undertake spiritual travels, but also for those who want to feel the spirit of history, to visit unforgettable sights, and to witness the incredible.

At Ostrog, we met a couple of Australians on bicycles. When asked why they came here, they said that nature is incredibly beautiful here, and that all of Montenegro is great for cycling, because just passing a few kilometers, the environment is completely changed, from the coast to the woods, and for someone who drives hundreds of kilometers, the most important thing is that the landscape is not uniform.

The ice cave inside looks like a special frozen world that melts even in the hottest time. Within the cave there is a multitude of glaciers and the most interesting figurines – stalagmites and stalactites that originate from droplets of water that sail. Getting to this awesome kingdom is not easy and it’s best to visit it with an experienced guide because in an environment of ice formations there are possible injuries. To reach the cave is possible only by walking in two ways: the first one is from Zabljak and the other from the mountain pass Sedlo, in order to reach the cave it takes 2-3 hours of walking in one direction.
